Horizons at Indio welcomed its first senior residents in June 2008. Designed in a traditional Spanish architectural style, this 80-unit community features a 2,100 square foot community center and is located in close proximity to shopping, transportation and the Indio Senior Center. Green-building features include solar panels on the community room roof, radiant barrier, hydronic heating, low-E glass windows, Energy Star appliances, no-VOC paint, and low-VOC carpeting and adhesives. Horizons at Indio serves seniors earning 40% to 60% AMI in Riverside County. A portion of the apartments are set aside for retired farmworkers.
