UHC is collaborating with the City of Rancho Cordova’s Redevelopment Agency and Housing Department to develop The Crossings at New Rancho, an 18-unit affordable multifamily community serving families earning 40% to 50% of Sacramento County area median income.  Featuring 12 two-bedroom and 6 three-bedroom apartment homes, the development will replace a dilapidated motel that has been vacant for nearly 10 years.  The Crossings at New Rancho is located in close proximity to schools, a grocery store, public transit, a hospital, and a pharmacy.  Water-saving fixtures, energy-efficient appliances and lighting, and environmentally-friendly materials have been included in the development's design.  Funding has been secured for the project, which is expected to begin construction in November 2010.
