The City of Los Angeles has selected UHC to transform an industrial location adjacent to 28th Street Elementary School in South Los Angeles into an attractive, safe, family-friendly residential neighborhood. This five-phase, multi-generational development will provide over 450 affordable rentals and for-sale residences for families and seniors in addition to community facilities and supportive resident services. UHC is also collaborating with local artists to design permanent art installations for the community’s outdoor recreation space. Construction of Phase I of The Crossings on 29th Street, scheduled to begin in Summer 2010, will include 34 two- and three-bedroom apartment homes serving families earning 30% to 60% AMI in Los Angeles County.
